Chapter 13: Adara

I gasped for breath- the bullet had hit my rib cage- and tried to stop the bleeding desperately. I made sure not to cry- I couldn’t let Ares see me cry, or the others. I’m not the crying to type. I faintly heard a gasp, from all the blood gushing out of my abdominal part. I barely saw Nicole approach me as clouds flooded my eyes. I felt a burning pain, as the blood disappeared. I screamed in pain, from the burning.
“I-I don’t know what’s wrong, now…” Nicole whispered. I heard a sigh.
Can you hear me, Adara?" I heard a masculine voice ask. I couldn’t feel enough to nod or find my voice. I screamed again as the burning got worse. Then it was black.

“Adara? Please wake up.” I heard a voice call me out of darkness. I looked up, at a few faces blurrily. I sat up quickly, but immediately regretted it.
“How long have I been unconscious?” I asked, wearily.
“Thirty-six hours.” Storm answered. My eyes widened.
“Y-you should be okay, now…” Nicole answered. I smiled appreciatively at her. She had healed me well. I could barely feel the pains in my rib cage.
“We need a plan, now.” Ethan said, urgently. We all nodded our heads in agreement.
